Introduction

You must have heard already that apple releases new iPhone series every spring and 2022 spring will not be different as we are made to anticipate the iPhone 14 series. This series consists of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 pro, iPhone 14 max and iPhone 14 pro max. In this article the iPhone 14 specifications would be analyzed to the best of our knowledge.

APPLE UPDATE

Because there have been several speculation as to how the iPhone 14 feature would be because of the recently released iPhone 13, we are however expecting the four iPhones in sizes 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches. Two of these models will be standard and more affordable; the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 max. While the other two would be the higher-end pro models; the iPhone 14 pro and iPhone 14 pro max.

iPhone 14 Size

As with the iPhone 13 pro which was released earlier in 2022, we are expecting a 6.1 inch “iPhone 14 pro” and a 6.7 inch “iPhone 14 pro max”. Rumors suggest that there would be significant design difference between the iPhone 13 pro line up and that of iPhone 14 pro. This is because Apple have decided to introduce changes to the Face ID camera. Unlike the iPhone 13 pro line up, the iPhone 14 pro line up is expected to have two display cut out instead of a notch like that of iPhone 13 pro design.

Similarity between iPhone 14 pro max and iPhone 13 pro max

The iPhone 14 pro max will however not too different in terms of size when compared to the iPhone 13 pro max but an iPhone 13 pro max case will not fit an iPhone 14 pro max because of the bigger bump of the camera of the iPhone 14 pro max. Design wise, the iPhone 14 models are going to look a lot like the iPhone 13 models, but with a notable exception – there’s not going to be an iPhone 14 mini.

Camera Quality

There are camera improvements coming to the iPhone 14 Pro models. Apple is expected to introduce a 48 mega pixel camera and 8K video recording capabilities. There could also be some improvements to the telephoto lens, and we may see a better Ultra Wide camera. The 48-megapixel Wide camera, the telephoto lens improvements, and the LiDAR Scanner will continue to be Pro-only features. As for the front-facing camera, all models could get an improved lens with a wider aperture and autofocus capabilities.

iPhone 14 pro Updated Chip

However, in addition to receiving camera improvements and notch changes not coming to the iPhone 14 models, rumors suggest the iPhone 14 Pro models could get an updated A16 chip while the non-Pro models continue to use the A15 chip in the current iPhone 13 lineup. If it happens, it will mark the first time that Apple has put a faster chip in a Pro iPhone model. With past devices, both standard and Pro iPhones have used the same chip.

iPhone 14 Connectivity

Apple is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X65 5G chip, which is the first 10-gigabit 5G modem with faster connectivity speeds and connectivity improvements. Alongside the X65, Apple is expected to introduce new satellite-based emergency features that will let users send texts in emergency situations and report accidents with no cellular coverage. The iPhone 14 is also expected to feature WiFi 6E connectivity.

With the iPhone 13 Pro models, Apple added a new 1TB storage tier, and rumors suggest that with the iPhone 14 upgrade, Apple could increase that even further to 2TB. This rumor comes from a source that’s not always accurate, however, it should be viewed with some skepticism, especially as other sources have indicated there will be no 2TB storage option. We also heard rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro lineup could start with 256gb of storage, but other information has suggested that is not correct and the devices will continue to start with 128gb.

As for the release date of the highly anticipated iPhone 14, Apple is holding a far- out event on Wednesday, September 7, where it is expected to unveil the new iPhone 14 models. After the September 7 debut, Apple could accept preorders on September 9, with a launch to follow on September 16
